Welcome to my Boulder, Colorado therapy practice.
Relationships at all stages require heart, courage, trust, commitment, and skill. I am a relationship specialist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist of 34 years, and a Level 3 Gottman Referred Therapist. Together, we weave discovery, resilience, and rich resource for optimal growth. Often, what we yearn for in our relationships is the very thing that turns us upside down and kicks our tush. Relationships can break us open, challenge us to our core, and show us the patterns that need to be faced and transformed for greater whole-hearted connection. It is to this end I am dedicated to assist you toward the love you desire.
Clients from all over Colorado and beyond come to my practice often at the beginning of their commitment as couples with great hopes and dreams. Clients come seeking more intimate and fulfilling relationships. Couples seek help with marriages within all stages. Parents come wanting greater relational skill and fulfillment with their children. Families needing direction and support come to my therapy practice to learn how to overcome difficulties and live more harmonious and satisfying lives with one another.
We design relationships that work!
Through assessment, we understand the deep desires of your heart. Dreaming and envisioning is far greater than merely goal setting or skill building. We will clarify your intentions, remove obstacles, build grit and resilience and achieve optimal connection and satisfaction. For couples, I refer to the Gottman Relationship Checkup as one of the main directives. From there, we build on the strengths presented and tackle the challenges. The Seven Principles to Make Marriage Work is woven into our work together. Building understanding, friendship, intimacy, turning toward, conflict skill, shared meaning, and vision are the focus of our work for marriages that thrive.
I bring that relational and leadership expertise to empower individuals and work teams to build a culture that thrives. Growing up in a family business, I offer experience in navigating those relationships in business that often present their own unique challenges.
Our work is designed in a 3-month model. Pricing can be arranged that will work for you as we create and customize our journey of growth.
In addition, I collaborate with my husband, Dan Macy, a Certified Career Counselor to provide a well-rounded support team. Ranger, our Cocker Spaniel, also makes his presence from time to time, as our Chief Morale Officer and Certified Therapy dog.
We design dreams that thrive!
I am a Certified Dream Coach through Dream University. We design dreams that create meaning and connection within relationship. Whether it is within your marital partnership, group or team- we will create clarity, increase belief and action to achieve your vision.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Sharla on joint leadership offerings for entrepreneurs at Impact Hub Boulder, and feel lucky to have been part of such a mutual partnership. Sharla is a true visionary when it comes to 21st century leadership and an expert on the skillsets that equip leaders to be their best
I was a member of a Women’s Empowerment Group, facilitated by Sharla Macy. At the time, my personal life was going through some difficult changes and my professional life felt stagnant. Sharla was an ideal facilitator to my group. We all feeling better able to tackle challenges, and life decisions.
We’ve been so lucky at Hygge Power to have received coaching from Sharla Macy She helped us overcome challenges that were otherwise very difficult to handle alone; change management, consistent communication of our vision, and in a non-judgmental manner. Thank you for your tools and guidance.
Sharla has been a tremendous resource to us a couple. From pre-marital counseling, to the present, she has helped clarify and implement our vision and life changes. We value the support, insight and expertise this has given to us! Thank you! You changed our lives!
I was searching for direction in my professional life. As my work with Sharla has progressed, I have been continually impressed with how she uses her gifts to connect the right people at the right times and to creatively lead us toward recognizing and implementing our own dreams and talents.
Sharla Macy is an amazing therapist and counselor with whom I have worked for nearly 10 years. She is thoughtful, caring, attentive, and exactly what you would look for to talk through the challenging parts of life with. She is wonderful at helping you set goals, create realistic expectations, and setting boundaries with others. I highly recommend her for any stage of life where you might need some guidance or a warm, and gentle professional to talk to.
My partner and I worked with Sharla on pre-marital counseling, and the whole experience was really great. We worked through a lot of the Gottman Institute resources, and feel well prepared to navigate our lives together as a married couple. Sharla’s trauma-informed approach, in addition to her wealth of knowledge and Drs. John and Julie Gottman’s work and approach, have been a really good fit for our needs. I would absolutely recommend her services.
Being on a team with hard workers who give 110%, we found ourselves overtaxed! Sharla’s Reset and Re-Energize workshop was a total game changer! Armed with tools for destressing, we are happier and more productive than ever! Sharla was able to establish trust quickly- she is kind, creative, and a great listener.
